Adulting Hack — The Life Admin Folder

If there’s one thing that makes you feel 10x more in control of your life, it’s this: having your important stuff in one place.

Enter: the Life Admin Folder.

It can be digital (Google Drive, Notion, Dropbox) or physical (a real folder or binder). The goal is to store all the things you’ll need again — but probably won’t remember where you put them.

What to include:

  • Your birth certificate, passport, licence

  • Tax file number and superannuation details

  • Medicare card and private health insurance

  • Job documents (contracts, payslips)

  • Rental agreements or bond info

  • Emergency contacts & medical info

Why bother? Because when you need to apply for a job, move house, or lodge your tax return — you’ll have everything ready. No more digging through emails or calling your mum.

Pro tip: Take photos or scans of everything and keep them in a secure cloud folder. That way, even if you lose your wallet, you’ve still got access to the info.

Adulting might be messy, but your life admin doesn’t have to be. Future you will thank you.
